Restorative Dentistry for Children in Tewksbury, MA

At Pediatric Dentistry and Beyond, our restorative dental care is designed to do more than fix teeth — it restores your child’s comfort, confidence, and ability to eat, speak, and smile with ease. We approach every treatment with patience, compassion, and a deep understanding of children’s emotional and developmental needs.

What Is Restorative Pediatric Dentistry?

Restorative dentistry focuses on treating cavities, injuries, and other problems that affect the structure and function of a child’s teeth. Whether a baby tooth is damaged or a permanent tooth needs protection, we use safe, modern materials and age-appropriate techniques to gently restore oral health.

Restorative Dental Services We Offer

Tooth-Colored Fillings

Made from BPA-free composite resin, our fillings are strong, durable, and virtually invisible. We use them to restore small to moderate cavities without changing your child’s natural appearance.

Stainless Steel Crowns

For larger cavities or baby teeth that need added strength, stainless steel crowns offer reliable, full-tooth coverage. These crowns are especially helpful for back molars where chewing forces are highest.

Pulpotomies (Baby Root Canals)

If a baby tooth’s nerve is infected but the tooth is still needed for development or spacing, we may perform a pulpotomy — a gentle procedure that removes the infection and saves the tooth until it’s ready to fall out naturally.

Dental Bonding

For chipped, cracked, or mildly misshaped teeth, bonding with tooth-colored material restores both function and appearance quickly and comfortably. For chipped, cracked, or mildly misshaped teeth, bonding with tooth-colored material restores both function and appearance quickly and comfortably.

Tooth Extractions

When a tooth is too damaged to save or needs to be removed for orthodontic reasons, we make extractions gentle and stress-free. Sedation and behavior guidance are available for anxious children.

Space Maintainers

If a baby tooth is lost early, we may place a space maintainer to keep the area open and protect proper alignment for the incoming adult tooth.

What to Expect During Treatment

Every procedure is explained in age-appropriate, reassuring language

Parents are welcome to stay with their child

We offer gentle numbing, soothing distractions, and sedation if needed

Breaks, choices, and visual aids help kids feel safe and in control

Each visit ends with high-fives and a small prize

Dr. Jasveen Singh and our team have extensive experience working with children who have anxiety, special needs, or previous dental trauma. We adjust our approach to each child’s pace and personality.

Why Restore Baby Teeth?

Even though baby teeth eventually fall out, they play a critical role in your child’s health and development. Baby teeth:

Help your child chew and speak properly

Hold space for permanent teeth

Guide jaw and facial development

Support confidence and social interaction

When decay or damage is left untreated, it can lead to pain, infection, or alignment issues later on. Restoring baby teeth now helps prevent more complex problems in the future.

Our Philosophy: Gentle, Preventive, Supportive

We treat the whole child — not just the tooth. That means:

Focusing on prevention whenever possible

Using the least invasive treatments that will still be effective

Supporting your child emotionally before, during, and after care

Keeping parents informed and involved at every step

Katie is amazing! My daughter was very nervous and she was able to distract her by talking to her about things that interest her and also held her hand throughout the entire process. The girls Sho and Kathy that work the front desk are very helpful and kind as well. Both my son and daughter are no longer afraid of the dentist. Thank you so much!
